A carbine is much easier to shoot with accuracy, speed, and skill than a pistol, and the P-IX allows a single GLOCK to switch between these two "modes" quickly and easily.
Perhaps that means your GLOCK is a home/vehicle defense pistol when in the P-IX and a concealed carry pistol when out of the P-IX. However, the Recover Tactical P-IX adds extra utility from a single pistol and is pretty cool.
